Spiritual Elegance
Priceless lessons from mom
My parents played a vital role in my life. My mom is my greatest companion, an endless supporter, and my best friend. She taught us with encouragement, never entertaining the word ‘impossible,’ but rather telling us anything we dreamed was within our reach. She instilled in me the priceless morals and values of life-
How to be independent
How to treat yourself and others with respect
The right way to behave in any situation
Don’t take part in gossip
Patience
Just do your best.
A job well done is its own reward.
It’s the thought that counts.
The best way to succeed is to be happy with what you have and to turn it into something better.
She taught us to pray
All of these lessons are valuable beyond compare. I’m Thankful to her for being a fabulous role model!
Rajyoga Meditation - Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University
Rajyoga is the easiest meditation. I was introduced to this knowledge by my mom in 2013. I feel greatly honored to have come in contact with God’s people. I believe in their mantra: When I change, the world changes, and I am determined to carry out my responsibility of becoming the change I want to see in the world.
The real beauty of raja yoga meditation is that you don't have to be a believer to get started. It is a meditation without rituals or mantras and can be practiced anywhere at any time. This spiritual practice is for any soul who desires to rediscover who they really are.
Benefits of Raja Yoga Meditation:-
– Peace of Mind
– Relaxation of body, mind and spirit.
– New attitudes and responses to life.
– Positive relationships.
– A deep sense of self-worth.
– Greater concentration
– A clearer sense of purpose.
– Inner stability and contentment.

Teachings Of Guru Nanak
From early childhood, I was attracted to many great saints of India; Guru Nanak Dev is one of them. I learnt about Him from my grandparents. I liked listening to His stories over and over. My mother used to sing Gurbani keertan and play harmonium at home. I had the opportunity to learn few wonderful hymns from her. The songs are beautiful which tame the mind and link the soul with the Lord. Guru Nanak was Enlightened Master and mystic poet. His writings and teachings, which have inspired millions of seekers around the world, depict Truth, Wisdom and Devotion.
He taught simple things that could be followed by all.
Guru Nanak’s main teachings:-
There is One God
Goodwill for all
Speak the truth
No Discrimination
Chant the Holy Name and thus remember God at all times.
Share and care, especially with those who are in need
Earn an honest living by ensuring that no action leads to cheating or exploitation.
Against Rituals/Superstitions
In this way, he showed the path of truth and enlightenment.
Bhagwad Gita
In my spiritual journey, my exploration of the Bhagavad Gita began in 2006 when I started performing the Dance drama on Radha krishna’s life. Love is the central teaching of Bhagavad gita, that is developing a loving relationship with Krishna. As soon as I performed my first show as Radha, I experienced being passionately in love with Krishna. He is absolutely gorgeous when he plays the flute! I cannot keep my eyes or ears off him. I remember because I was dressed up as Radha and danced with him, too. I visualized the real Krishna appearing in front of me. I wanted him to be mine..
I thought this is what He expects us to accomplish, our love for God guides us not only towards attainment of paradise but also towards reaching even greater spiritual heights. Bhagavd Gita shows path to the lost, answer to the confused and wisdom to all.
Here are some excerpts from the Bhagavad Gita and how you can use them to resolve your own uncertainties, doubts, fears and confusions.
Think with a calm mind:
Give up on results:
Don't give in to stress:
Be ready for change:
Act with conviction:
Set high standards:
Do all actions for Krishna’s sake.
We did not bring anything to this world; neither are we going to take anything.
Whatever happened was good, whatever is happening is good and what all will happen in the future will be good.
Bible
Everyone used to ask me the reason for my catholic name. I was given this name by my paternal aunt who had close association with Christianity.. One of the most memorable moments of my school days was when I had the privilege to learn some great teaching of Bible through my aunt. We visited church very often. She always told me-
“Grace is a gift from God and is his greatest expression of love. To be under grace is to continually be receiving divine love, forgiveness, help and gifts. Loving God is natural and necessary for the children of God. It’s natural because it’s part of our nature as children of God.”
The whole Bible is the divinely inspired word of God. Each amazing truth is explained precisely with many bible verses:-
God loves us deeply, perfectly and everlastingly. - Dieter F. Uchtdorf
He knows everything about you. He sees you clearly. He knows you as you really are and He loves you today and always! - Dieter F. Uchtdorf
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Matthew 7:1-2
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." - Matthew 7:7-8
Dear Lord, make my life a window for your light to shine through and a mirror to reflect your love to all I meet. Amen!
“Grace be with all who love our Lord with love incorruptible”
Buddhism: Life philosophy of Nichiren Daishonin’s
I was introduced to this beautiful philosophy of Buddha by my sister Lisa in 2003. I was going through very hectic working schedule and facing career challenges. So visibly, unhappiness was written on my face, I was asked to give this practice a try.
Why this? Why me? Why not me?
My questions helped me realize that I was working too hard to make just others happy and in that struggle, I forgot myself. I finally started to rediscover myself.
One day I determined that I’m also going to be victorious, no matter what.
When I decided to change my thoughts, I started seeing the effects in my environment. The benefits that I received boosted my self-belief and morale.
Buddha taught that ‘It is the heart that is important’. When our own hearts shine like the sun, everything seems to shine brightly. Rather, we can make everything shine. When we ourselves become the sun, shadows disappear. With faith like the sun, we will be free from sadness, despair and unhappiness. We will be able to positively transform unfortunate events into bliss. When our life state changes , the way things appear to us changes too. That is the teaching of Nichiren Daishonin.
Reiki Healing
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So , Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." When I started my acting carrer in 1997, it was the greatest challenge for me because I had no acting experience and never planned to take a job as an actor. And I wanted to do my best in this career. I found a new interest in reiki, as one of my co-actors was a reiki practitioner. Soon I was introduced to a senior Reiki master , Mrs Vrinda Jaykar, who taught me 2nd degree Reiki. The course proved to be an incredible experience. It helped me to perform better in my work. I learned that Reiki is about opening up your energy channels. Eastern medicine is based on the belief that unseen life force energy runs through the body and these meridian points and that it is what keeps us alive. If your energy flow is weak, you are more apt to experience illness or disease. The stronger it is , the happier and healthier your life.
Chakra balancing
Chakra balancing has been one of the important aspects of my spiritual practice for healthy mind, body and soul. Each chakra is expressed on the physical body in one of the endocrine glands that regulate physical and emotional processes in the body. Chakras are centers of activity that receive, assimilate and express life force energy. They are responsible for the person's physical, mental, and spiritual functions. Each chakra also relates to a sense and an element, like this:
First chakra or Root Chakra sits at the base of your spine, at your tailbone = smell/earth= Color Red
Second chakra or Sacral Chakra Located at lower abdomen = taste/water= color orange
Third chakra or Solar Plexus Chakra Located at the stomach = sight/fire= color orange
Fourth chakra or Heart Chakra Located at the heart = touch/air= color green & pink
Fifth chakra or Throat Chakra Located at the throat = hearing/sound= color Blue
Sixth chakra or Third Eye Chakra Located in the middle of the eyebrows, in the center of the forehead = “sixth sense”/light= color Indigo
Seventh chakra or Crown Chakra Located at the top of the head = it is off the body and unrelated to the sensory world, so it has no associations, except to pure consciousness.= color Violet and pure white light.
Healing the chakra system as a whole:-
Close your eyes and visualize God’s Divine light falling over you in each colour individually over the associated areas. Start with the root chakra, and go through all the colours until you reach the crown chakra. You can visualize yourself in a ball of white light to finally balance your chakras.
Yoga
The practice of yoga and meditation, prove to be a powerful combination for inner and outer harmony. I started learning yoga at the age of 13 under the guidance of Swami Saraswati.
One of the most precious gifts Yoga offers is the mind/body experience. It brings clarity and peace to the mind.
Practicing yoga first awakened in me the intention to live wholly, authentically, connected to a divine source. Yoga brings me back to my true nature. It leaves me calm and alert, able to face whatever is in front of me. I become more and more tolerant, filled with gratitude, and more accepting of the present moment, whatever it brings. So when life tosses me around, as it does to all of us from time to time, my practice means allowing the tough emotions to flow through me, without interference. When I do this, there is always a wellspring of peace awaiting. There are great benefits of yoga - Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual.. such as :-
Improves balance and posture
Strengthens the immune system
Massages the internal organs
Helps to detoxify the body
Decreases in cellular aging
Improves self-discipline and concentration
Increases self-confidence and optimism
Leads to a sense of fulfillment
Develops a connection to something greater than ourselves. (Nature, universe, God, and expression of the divine.)
Bharatnatyam
Bharatanatyam is an artistic form of yoga , seeks to reveal the spiritual through the physical. Rich in its grace, rich in its expressions, Bharatanatyam defines culture. It is an art that transforms the beauty of a performer not just by appearance but also as a culturally aware person. As a kid, I’ve dreamt of being a classical dance performer like ‘that’ girl shown in Indian cinema, who can keep her audience captivated through her expressions and postures. But I never had any formal training in dance till I completed my education. Finally in year 2000 I had the opportunity to meet Hema malini ji and I was introduced to Guru Sri Deepak Mazumdar who worked with her. Then I started my beautiful journey of dance. After 6 months of training, I eventually made it to my first stage performance "Arangetram”. It was a performance that created an identity for myself and brought out the confidence in me . It wasn’t easy to let go of this art. From then on, after a few performances, I also learnt other classical dance styles like odissi and kathak, and formed a dance troupe. Dance is a powerful personal discipline. Classical Indian dance is the identity of the culture of the nation. It also gives so many values to society. The purpose of the bharatanatyam is to interpret and express spiritual concepts. This gives immense empowerment—feeling that you are in charge of your destiny, your life and handling the whole situation around you.
Inner reflexion through Walking
Walking connects me to the glorious world of nature, which I believe we often lose touch with in our hectic day to day lives. Artists believe that walking activates the imagination and opens up the creative process. It is deeply restorative. It has played an enormous role in the devotional life of people from all the world's religions: prayers and mantra practice while walking. It is widely known that walking is the most natural and healthy of exercises. We reconnect with our deepest selves; we reconnect with the Creator and with the creation. I prefer walking barefoot. Our skin breathes and absorbs vitamins and minerals from the earth. If you go barefoot on the beach, the natural salts in the sand and sea are said to have magnificent healing effects on the body. Let the skin of your feet touch the Earth, on the grass, soil or sand. As I walk, I give thanks for the beauty I see around me both in nature and in people I pass by. Praise comes easily and at times I feel like breaking into songs of worship. The rhythm of walking leaves you open to talk with God. on a physical level, walking has enormous benefits. It strengthens the heart. It helps the lungs operate more efficiently. It strengthens the digestive system. Walking boosts the immune system and enhances the nervous system. There are a multitude of positive physical benefits of walking.
Relevence of Ramayan
I have visited this impressive cultural attraction at chitrakoot and had a wonderful opportunity to meet Sri Murari Bapu, while touring for my dance performances. It was a privilege to understand deeply about The Ramayana. It is not just a story, but also an educational medium to demonstrate the importance of values such as loving and respecting your family and elders, keeping your promises, positive sibling relationships, protecting the weak and so on. The magnum opus of Hindu mythology, Ramayana, is a medium to teach your child about values and ethics. And the perfect example of selfless, dedicated and loving service to Lord is his greatest devotee, Hanuman. Hanuman represents devotion, determination, courage and single-minded focus to accomplish a task. Another very important point is that Hanuman’s focus is only on his duty and not the reward. Similarly, we are supposed to focus on our respective duties and not fix our minds on the rewards or benefits.
Hanuman always attributes all his accomplishments to the Lord and was totally free from pride or arrogance. As human beings, we should attribute the credit of a work done to the blessings of God. The teachings of Ramayana are endless. It is a true goldmine of knowledge. The principles of Ramayana are beyond any boundaries of time or place. By following these precious principles of life, we can uplift ourselves from ignorance to light.
Sattvik Diet
In my personal experience, I find that sattvik diet helps in meditation and yoga practice and helps to avoid feelings of irritation, sadness or fatigue. The practice of meditation has a purifying effect on the soul and preparing and eating food in remembrance of God has a cleansing effect on the body. In the Sattvik Diet there is one authentic ingredient in every dish -- LOVE. This is extracted from the heart of the universal life force. It is the pure essence of God's remembrance that flavors the food and purifies the particles eaten. This purified vegetarian food when eaten gives the person an experience of the spiritual and physical benefits of eating in soul-conscious awareness. Sattvic food is simple, natural to the earth, and nutritious to the body. A sattvic diet is excellent for individuals who desire to live a peaceful and meditative life. When choosing products, get what is fresh, clean, and seasonal. Foods that is savory, smooth, firm and pleasant to the stomach, leaving us feeling calm, alert, and refreshed. Eat what grows naturally like fresh vegetables, and fruits, legumes and whole grains. These naturally grown foods are known for their purity and vitality and are valued as a carrier of the life force of nature. Creating a pure ambiance and preparing food with cleanliness and in a peaceful and calm stage means to fill the food with spiritual and peaceful vibrations. You can play soft music or songs to keep the atmosphere pure. Commit to prepare the food in a peaceful and happy mental stage and in remembrance of God, the ONE for whom I am cooking. This practice has made my cooking, an enjoyable experience. When the meal is in front of you, pause for a moment and let there be grace before eating the food. Invite the presence of God at the table and into your mind. Give gratitude to the earth for providing the food and eat with your Beloved God and enjoy His company while eating. Eat sitting down and with tranquility, without rushing or standing up. When it is time to eat, eat. This means not to be distracted with other things such as reading, watching TV, or talking too much. When we concentrate our attention on what we are eating, the body and the mind are nourished. After meals, it is recommended to always take a few minutes to rest and relax, before starting again with your activities.
Glimpses of God in nature
I experienced much joy in relation with the nature. When God reveals Himself through the physical world it means that HE communicates things about Himself through nature. Spending time in nature, observing silence and engaging in prayer is very delightful to reflect on the mind. The great outdoors are essential in optimal wellbeing. Staring at flowers is also one of the most beautiful spiritual experiences of my life. A flower is the perfect expression of God’s love. Flowers play an important role during prayer ceremonies. Flowers are a medium of contact between the angels and those who live upon the earth.
The first step in connecting your body with nature is realizing that you are nature, not separate from but an integral part of it. Your body is made up of all the same elements, minerals and energy that make up the planet. The oxygen that we breathe is from a symbiotic relationship between humans and trees in which we both provide the necessary element for one another to live. Looking skyward can be a tool to transcend space-time reality. Many ancient civilizations looked to the stars for guidance and power. Sun gazing is an interesting practice that has been going on for eons. Some people even report not needing food by simply gazing into the sun during certain times of the day (typically during sunrise and sunset). During these times the sun does not have harmful effects on the eyes and is even said to increase energy, vitality and eyesight. Get friendly with the elements of nature. Breathe the air in an area abundant with trees. You are able to tap into any part of nature, because it is inherently in you. No matter how long you stay indoors, the truth remains that you are nature and nothing can take that away from you.
Amritwela healing
Amrit Vela is commonly known as early morning meditation., between 4am to 5 am! ‘Amrit’ means nectar while ‘Vela’ means time or moment. As one sits in meditation and in contemplation of God, one is able to taste the nectar, the sweetness, of this divine relationship. It is a very special, silent and personal time with the Almighty that is much more difficult to recreate once the world begins its busy, noisy day. It is the only time to take real power from God. I personally have been practicing Amritwela and I thoroughly love it. I have never got bored with it. If due to some reasons I miss this early morning appointment, then there is definitely the feeling of having missed something important, like missing an important dose of powerful medicine! Amrit Vela is normally a time to bathe in the blissful experience of God, and our higher self. Sit and absorb his love, energy and pure vibrations. It is not really a time to think of mundane matters such as work, or to try to resolve the inner and outer conflicts that may be ongoing; reserve those issues for your later meditations. In fact, as one fills oneself with power at this most auspicious time, one is able to gain the inner strength to overcome many of the obstacles that arise in one’s life. It’s Time… to wake up in the early morning hours and to fill up from the Supreme Source of love and light. Enjoy the sweet taste of Amrit Vela and awaken not only the body, but also the soul!
Nourishment for skin and soul
The skin is a representation of how we see ourselves, and how others see us and the language we use in our own inner voices. The use of sacred, purified water and herbs in combination with prayer is beneficial since ancient times for cleansing and purifying your skin and aura. It indicates that you are open to ask the universe to transform what you believe needs to be changed in yourself.
Water is considered the essence of life and has the capacity to cleanse your energetic system of psychic blocks and the accumulation of emotional and spiritual energy you have accumulated in your everyday life. Whether or not you realize, you come into contact with various people and environment, all of which have their own energy vibrations. Not all of these frequencies are high and positive; because your energy field is constantly taking in and putting out vibrations, some of the vibrations (including your own thoughts, as well as external influences) are low and will bring you down if left unchecked. While our body is constantly readjusting itself to bring our energy back into harmony, the negative energies can linger and build up over time.
Cleansing your skin with natural ingredients such as- homemade organic soaps, sandalwood, Neem, Tulsi, Saffron, gram floor, milk, honey, ashwagandha, bael, sea salts etc.- can help reduce stress, soothe the skin, relieve sore joints and give a relaxing experience. It is a lovely, healing way to care for your skin . When you are immersed in water, the pores of the skin are open and receptive to the healing properties of the herbs; it’s a highly effective method to nourish your skin and soul. Give your skincare regime a boost from the universe., to feel divine and look divine.
Spiritual friends
Friendship is vital in spiritual journey. To spend time with fellow seekers is an essential foundation for growth in spiritual education. A very high level of importance is assigned to holy friends since it is considered essential for ethical progress of an individual. Collective discussions and prayers in spiritual friendship are considered higher than the isolated individual practice as the holy fellowship is all the time morally elevating. The company of a true friend is within you. That is you are always with the “Truth.” Truth is what is real and what exists in front of you. The holy company helps to nurture the positive qualities and win over the negative elements within ourselves. One also gets the benefit of growth of Divine Consciousness.
I feel happy to spend time with people who share spiritual belief, goals, and challenges. I love attending meditation classes, sacred wisdom studies, social events, anything that puts me in that good, supportive company. I get inspired, informed and on track
Healing power of music
Music is a wonderful method of meditation. It is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us. It is an art I love immensely. Sometimes I feel music all around; everything in the universe is musical and has a rhythm. I even dream about music. It is my first morning ritual to start my day. Classical music was an important part to learn during my bharatnatyam training, to have knowledge about music and its structure. My favorite music includes Hindustani classical, carnatic, devotional, sufi, fusion with uplifting songs or ones that have peaceful melodies with inspiring lyrics.
Music is very beneficial for your personal well-being, health, personal growth, inner healing, joy and spiritual awareness. Music speaks to the soul because it is the soul’s language. But the spiritual, healing power of music goes far beyond that. There was a time where music and healing were part of the same, as it is documented in all ancient traditions. Music is not merely entertainment, but therapy, the healing power that exists within us all: ‘Life Energy’. Harmony can be restored with the appropriate use of music and sound to produce healing. This is the beautiful holistic power of music reconnecting you to the source and returning you to your natural harmonious state, in alignment with the universal source. This is to heal with music.
Gardening with God
I have beautiful childhood memories of my mother taking care of the garden of our house. Her personal belief is that God is not only in temples and prayer, but also in the nature of wellness. She had many lovely flowers and vegetable plants in the garden. She loved all plants, and treated them as human beings. She always observed how each plant is doing. It was a form of compassion. She taught me that we have to learn a lot from plants, they can suffer from winter wind and things like that, but they have the strength to repair themselves.
That is the connection between the garden and the rest of us. The garden is there to help the plants to be well, so they can thrive again. Humans are built to start again even after terrible conditions, but a helping hand is important. We need the gardener as a friend of the plant, and we need to help out the people who suffer.
In ancient times, if a person cut one tree, he planted five in return. We need to revive traditional practices of honoring and conserving nature. There is something very therapeutic and rewarding about taking part in the cycles of nature by gardening. It reminds you that you’re not just an outside observer to the cycles of nature, but a part of it.
Gardening is a way of making meaning out of our lives. Digging in the soil has actual health and ‘mood boosting’ benefits.
By making a small window garden or window box and planting simple and easy growing plants, will help you to improve your environment, as well as give the psychological satisfaction of doing your part for the environment. Each one planting few plants will help to reduce the ecological imbalance that is being created due to construction of high rise towers. Also a green window gives a break from the solid, hard and cold look of the concrete building.
Gardening also makes the world more beautiful.
Holistic healing with Homeopathy
I love homeopathy because it is very close to natural healing & it is the only healing method that not only provides physical treatment but also restores mental & spiritual well being. I’ve been fortunate to meet a great homeopath , Dr Rajan Sankaran in 2014. After few months of homeopathy treatment, I felt completely rejuvenated. Homeopathy works to unify all aspects of our being so that individually we can function with true harmony, and then possibly bring about greater harmony in our environment. Homeopathy can be likened to surgery for the soul, because healing takes place through the precise action of homeopathic remedies on the spiritual core of the person. Homeopathy is a powerful healing system that is uniquely able to restore health and well-being by correcting the spiritual imbalance that lies at the core of all illness. Through homeopathy one can gradually and permanently overcome chronic or life-long physical, psychological ailments as well as spiritual obstacles that have not yielded to any other therapeutic approach. It is, in fact, a powerful tool for spiritual development, and as such it can help overcome many physical ailments and psychological conditions that cannot be addressed by conventional means because they represent spiritual challenges. By accessing and balancing the core of one’s being, the freedom from disease which homeopathy brings not only alleviates suffering but also contributes to emotional maturation and to freedom to pursue the highest goals of our existence.
Using sports to inspire deeper spirituality
Sports have played an important role in my life ever since I was very young. The memories of all the awesome trips and different experiences I have had will be with me for a lifetime. I love to engage myself into sports and extra activities like badminton, table tennis, roller skating and horse riding. Our abilities to play sport are part of God’s creation and we are to enjoy it. God gives us gifts- both natural and physical abilities just like singing or dancing. These can be an expression of God so you can use your physical body in sport. The benefits of outdoor sports are endless and will help keep you physically and mentally healthy. Being a sport means you are willing to play, and you are involved or alive to the situation in which you exist, and that is the essence of life. If there is anything that is truly close to a spiritual process, in the normal course of life, that is sports. Swami Vivekananda went to the extent of saying, “In kicking a ball or playing a game, you are much closer to the Divine than you will ever be in prayer.” You can pray without involvement, but you cannot play sports without involvement, and involvement is the essence of life. Life itself is a game. “Game” means there is also a real eternal life, which is connected to the supreme soul. In the game of life, God “The Good Coach”, doesn’t care whether you signed a big contract or got your name in the record books. All He cares about is getting people home (soul consciousness) and winning this game! In sports…only your pride is on the line, but in the game of life…souls are on the line. The team that establishes love for each other wants to win for each other and for “the good coach”. They become willing to do anything for each other in order to accomplish the purposes of the team. They “forget themselves” as individuals and unite around the common goal. They do the little things right and everything else falls into place.
Costume designing to inspire intuitive energy
My experience of dress designing started in early childhood as a hobby. I used to design clothes for my dolls and even had a sewing machine. I've always had a love for clothes. I’ve been very particular in choosing and designing clothes for every occasion. It’s also a lovely experience to design costumes and jewellery for my dance Performances. These costumes are deeply symbolic, as their purpose is to project the dancer’s "sukshma sharira", in the material world. The clothing we wear is often our most powerful and obvious form of personal expression. What we choose to wear tells everyone what type of person we are and what we think of our self. The vibrations of clothes depend on factors such as type of cloth, shape, colour, design, stitching of cloth, etc. The more sāttvik (pure) these factors are, the greater is the positive feel of the clothes. We can raise the purity in our clothes while also reducing the negative component which causes spiritual ignorance. Natural fabrics such as cotton and pure silk have a greater ability to attract, imbibe and retain divine frequencies from the atmosphere. Sattvik designs such as leaves, flowers, dots etc are more helpful. Color of the clothes helps to attract spiritually positive vibrations and avoid negative vibrations. Along with this, clothes that are hand-made while chanting the Name of God, have a better ability to attract positive spiritual vibrations. Wearing jewellery has a positive spiritual effect by allowing the person to imbibe Divine Energy and experience spiritual healing through acupressure. Every object has its own distinct and unique spiritual vibrations. Once we gain the ability to experience subtle-vibrations through clothes, we empower ourselves to make better decisions about everyday activities which finally help us lead a sattvik and fulfilling life. But most important attire is the shield of God to protect us from the battle that we face on a daily basis. When you’re facing any kind of spiritual battle, remember you’re not fighting it alone – you have God’s armor! When you’re wearing His armor, you can experience victory in every area of your life!
Painting to connect with inner life
Painting as a Spiritual Practice allows you to recognize that you are not just your personality. You are also consciousness itself. It allows you to find your way back to that exquisite sense of yourself as more than your name. To remember that your spirit is so much greater than your worrying, and judging mind.
You will experience the power of your creativity as a tool for developing greater self compassion and self awareness. The magic of the painting process will also encourage you to be much more fully present and fully alive.
Like all spiritual practices, this approach to painting takes you on a journey into the inner worlds of numinous inspiration and holy imagination. Painting from my intuition is the core of this practice and I can spend the bulk of my time with a paint brush in my hand.
Interior designing for divine space
Our environment, our house and our surroundings have the power to elevate our spirits. It’s a powerful tool that we can use to reduce stress. I learned early in life that when things look good it makes me feel good. I remember how renewed and refreshed I felt when I decorated my room, arranged furniture or hung a pretty picture on the wall I kept looking at it over and over with delight and pleasure. Creating a space you love to come home to will fill you with joy and give you the confidence to host others in your home! It’s also really fun to decorate here and there. Adding some new colorful throw pillows, painting, and hanging curtains will really make a wonderful impact. I desire my home and my heart to be a place of beauty, a living sanctuary. The surrounding landscape as well as the objects, layout and emotions in your environment affect the positive flow of energy in your life. When your space and home is filled with positive energy and symbols, you feel happy and motivated. Our goal is to maximize the positive energy and minimize the negative. Literally anyone can become an interior designer. Someone who loves playing with colors, fabrics and textiles can become a designer. Connect with your inner designer and discover a unique type of beauty. Cleanliness is essential to spiritual progress and self improvement in all fields of activities and in all spheres of life, including our habits and behaviors. It is a sign of spiritual purity and progress. It reflects reverence to God. Hence, the saying. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness".
As we strive to create a beautiful home, similarly we need to pray for a beautiful heart. If the joy of the Lord is in our heart, it will permeate throughout every room in our home.
